Coachella isn’t just about music and fashion…. the ART is major! Kaleidoscope patterns, giant astronauts, dancing hippos, temples – Coachella are experts at switching it up! Giving us festival goers something new to see, besides seeing your favourite artist! Coachella have evolved from renting pieces, to having a budget of over $2m to spend on epic commissions.
We announced a month back that we were looking for like minded bloggers to collaborate with. We want to share stories from across the globe of your travel adventures, festival experiences (with and without children), and tales of parenthood. Our very first guest post is by Gadsventure who are sharing their knowledge of the Woodford Folk Festival, Australia.
On Friday the 27th July we headed down to Dorset for Camp Bestival. Bestival has been on our long list of “MUST DO” festivals. We figured that Camp Bestival would be a good starting point, being the UK’s most well known family festival. Although its been in our diary for a while we only booked tickets 2 weeks before. We decided that we would head down on the Friday and stay in a nearby hotel rather than camp. The Springfield Country Hotel was booked for 2 nights, which seemed to be a hit with other Camp Bestival goers. We even mingled with some roadies and bands over the corn flakes at breakfast.

Camping at a festival is a right of passage for any adult let alone teenager. There’s not a festival campsite in the world that doesn’t have that lawless, “Mad Max” feel about it. A place where spontaneous riots/parties erupt out of nowhere and everybody you meet is a potential “new friend for life”. Festival stripes are awarded to those who elegantly (and painlessly) navigate through 6 inches of mud to their camping spot. Armed with nothing but a rickety sack trolly, loaded to breaking point with 3 crates of beer, 2 sleeping bags, 1 tent and a pot noodle.
You’ve probably seen from our previous post Big Fish Little Fish Vibes, that we love a baby rave. We’re in the midst of that first year baby haze, so still working up to that “Im back” drinking sesh. As our willpower is non existent, we need Emerson to escort us when raving to alleviate the urge to get totally annihilated.
